The 2019/20 regular season of the Baltic Handball League had its ups and downs, but it saved the best for last. Both group winners were determined on the final day in the head-to-head matches. SKA Minsk defeated ZRHK Tenax Dobele to take the first spot in the Final Four, while HC Kehra/Horizon Pulp&Paper and VHC Šviesa Vilnius played a draw, which was enough for the Lithuanians to finish top of Group B.
There have been some very exciting matches and events throughout the regular season of 2019/20 Baltic Handball League. But the final weekend promises to produce even more excitement for handball fans or even mathematicians. Winner of Group A and our first Final Four participant will be determined on Sunday in Minsk. In Group B there are four teams who can qualify for quarter-finals.
Another one of the postponed matches was held last Friday before this weekend will see the finish of the regular season. In Minsk two teams met, that have shared last seven BHL titles. This time they shared points, as SKA and Cocks Riihimäki produced an exciting match, which ended in a 27:27 draw.
The week, where three important postponed matches were played in Group A, brought much more worrying news for Baltic Handball League. The leader of Group A, ZTR Zaporozhye has withdrawn from the competition due to financial problems. The decision about ZTR's results and upcoming matches will be taken by BHL's leadership this week.
Eight important matches were played over the course of the weekend in Baltic Handball League. Lithuanian clubs came out almost with a "full house", using poker terms, as they won four and drew one of the five matches being involved. ZTR Zaporozhye also added two victories to their tally, while HC Kehra/Horizon Pulp&Paper collected a derby-win.
Regular season in Baltic Handball League is getting into descisive stage, group tables show a very close race for the play-offs is ahead. This weekend eight matches will be played, most of them in Group B, where the competition for two quarter-finals spots is exceptionally even and hugely important matches lay ahead.
